Adult Passport Fees (Age 16+)

The execution fee is paid separately at the acceptance facility and covers the cost of verifying your identity and witnessing your signature. It is only required for in-person applications (DS-11). Mail-in renewals (DS-82) do not require this fee.

Children under 16 cannot renew by mail. Each new passport application requires both parents to appear in person and pay the execution fee. The passport fee is paid by check or money order to the U.S. Department of State.

Expedited service is available for both first-time applications and renewals. For renewals by mail, write "EXPEDITE" clearly on the outside of the envelope. For first-time applications, request expedited service at your acceptance facility appointment.

Refund Policy

Passport Fees Are Non-Refundable

Passport fees are not refundable under any circumstances. This includes cancellations, denials, or if you no longer need the passport. Make sure you are eligible and have all required documents before applying.
